Showrunner Kurt Sutter Quits 'The Abandons' With Production Just Weeks Left, Alleged Reason Revealed | Kurt Sutter, Netflix, television, The Abandons | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Showrunner and creator Kurt Sutter is no longer involved in his new Netflix series The Forsaken.

The actor, writer, director and producer (who famously worked on “ Sons of Anarchy) served as executive producer of the series, a western with stars like Lena Headey And Gillian Anderson.

News of his departure comes with a rumored production time of three weeks, and sources have hinted at what prompted the decision.

According to a report from Deadline, there were “creative differences over the direction of the major production as filming wraps and goes into post.”

There were reportedly issues with the length of the series' premiere episode, which was split into two parts. According to reports, those in charge of the streamer found the first few episodes “a little disjointed.”

With Kurt from, executive producer and director Otto Bathurst and co-executive producer Rob Askins are in the process of completing production. There will be no new showrunner.

Normal production of the show must be completed and there are plans for some reshoots.

So far Netflix and Kurt have declined requests for comment. We'll let you know when we find out more.
