In the first part of a special two-day show, the stars performed to a soulful series of songs inspired by the hit TV show Soul train. Monday's episode, which was pre-recorded last week, began with an action-packed routine from the pros and a brief explanation of the story behind the legendary show. Former NBA star Dwight Howard has had the charisma to win over the judges and viewers in recent weeks, but tonight it just wasn't enough. Howard and pro Daniella admitted in their package that they didn't have much time to practice their routine due to travel this week, and when it came time to perform, it showed. Howard paid little attention to his footwork while dancing, but much on his facial expressions and his wig, and the judges took note (Carrie Ann was booed by the crowd) and gave them 23 out of 40.

The surprise superstar of the season, Bachelor Star Joey Graziadei showed off his backflip and musicality with his lively jive to “Shout,” which earned him the first 9s of the season. “Your sex appeal is unbeatable!” said Perez. The pair finished second on the leaderboard, just behind leader Chandler Kinney, who took first place for the third consecutive year with four nines.
