Stevie Nicks' new single increases sales by more than 500%

Stevie Nicks released her first new single in several years just last month. The popular singer-songwriter has released “The Lighthouse” as a standalone song in hopes that the song will inspire people to view the abortion rights debate in a different light.

This week you can hear this single again on Multiple billboard Diagrams. A massive increase in pure purchases of Nicks' song is helping to make it a hit again, just a short time after it first reached several lists and then immediately fell back.

According to Luminate, nearly 2,000 copies of “The Lighthouse” were sold in the U.S. last week. That's a significant increase compared to a few days earlier, when the song only achieved a fraction of those sales.

In the last tracking week, “The Lighthouse” sold almost 300 copies. Luminate reports that sales of Nicks' latest offering are up 565% from one frame to the next.

All of these purchases help “The Lighthouse” find its way back into two different worlds billboard Charts – those where it has already landed. The cut appears highest on the Rock Digital Song Sales list, which contains only the best-selling titles in that genre. On this roster, Nicks is back at No. 5, marking a new high for the single.

At the same time, Nicks pushes “The Lighthouse” into the Digital Song Sales all-style rankings. The single returns to number 22 in these charts. Unlike the rock-only list, this isn't a new high point for the cut.

Nicks released “The Lighthouse” in late September. The song debuted on several billboard After the initial recording period faded into obscurity, it faded from the charts and disappeared shortly thereafter, as is often the case with the latest offerings from artists midway through their careers. The single is now enjoying a second life and it remains to be seen what will happen next.
