Mauricio Pochettino, the new coach of the U.S. men's national soccer team, faces his first big test when his team faces rivals Mexico on Tuesday night in Zapopan, Mexico, near Guadalajara.

This game will be the USMNT's first friendly in Mexico since 2012, which incidentally is the team's only win in Mexico in 28 games all-time in the country. The 2012 friendly match took place at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Tuesday night's game will take place at Estadio Akron, home of Liga MX's Chivas de Guadalajara.

The Pochettino era with the USMNT got off to a promising start on Saturday as the USA beat Panama 2-0 in Austin, Texas. Yunus Musah and Ricardo Pepi each scored goals in the win. However, Pepi will not be available for the game against Mexico; Neither will the team's top player, Christian Pulisic, and regular starter Weston McKennie.
