Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce inspire the Lifetime holiday romance movie

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Lifetime has announced the release of a film titled “Christmas in the Spotlight” as part of the network’s 2024 “It’s A Wonderful Lifetime” film slate.

The holiday film explores the romance between a popular musician and socialite and a professional soccer player.

The film is apparently inspired by Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, whose high-profile romance began last season when Kelce invited the singer to watch him play against the Chicago Bears on September 24, 2023.

The Lifetime stars Jessica Lord, who plays Bowyn, a popular pop star who, despite always singing about love and relationships, hasn't found the right man yet. Her fame and busy schedule make dating almost impossible. Then she meets Drew, played by Laith Wallschleger, a professional football player, backstage at her show with his niece. When Drew publicly declares that he is in love with Bowyn, the two decide to give dating a try.

As their relationship grows, the public begins to question whether their feelings for each other are real, as does pressure from the press, paparazzi, fans and even family. The couple has until the end of the holiday season to decide whether they want to stay together or burn it down.
