TE Cole Kmet was forced to trade after the Bears lost long snapper Scott Daly to injury

LONDON – The Bears are relying on their emergency long snapper – tight end Cole Kmet – after Scott Daly injured his knee on a punt on Sunday.

Daly lay on the ground for several minutes before walking gingerly to the sideline, where he was examined in the blue medical tent and quickly ruled out with a knee injury.

Teams do not carry more than one long snapper. The Bears turned to their emergency long snapper, starting tight end Cole Kmet. He also made his first snap in the NFL after scoring a touchdown. In the second quarter, he caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Caleb Williams, stayed on the field and snapped the ball for a sure extra point.

Daly was the Bears' long snapper all season after Patrick Scales, their starter at the position, required back surgery during training camp. The Bears have a bye after the Jaguars game — and time to think about what to do next.
