Teddi Mellencamp And Edwin Arroyave were married for 13 years before they separated.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, one of the singer's children John MellencampHe first met Arroyave in a Hollywood nightclub in 2009.

“I was tricked a little bit because when I first saw Edwin he had a hat on,” Teddi recalled to Yahoo! Lifestyle in 2019. “And then when I saw him the next morning, the hat was off and he had a ponytail hanging out of the back. I thought after that night that it was just one of those (stories) you tell your girlfriends: 'Maybe I'll hang out with him again.'”

Teddi stayed with Arroyave for two years before they married in her native Indiana. The couple later had daughters Slate and Dove and son Cruz. (Arroyave is also father to eldest daughter Isabella from a previous relationship.)

After 13 years of marriage and Arroyave supporting Teddi in her recurring battle with skin cancer, they went their separate ways.

“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Teddi wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “My children are my priority and I will ensure that their privacy and well-being are maintained with the utmost care throughout this new chapter.”

2009

After the two met in a nightclub, Teddi was sure it would be a once-in-a-lifetime affair.

July 2011

They married two years later in a romantic ceremony in Indiana.

October 2012

Teddi and Arroyave's first child together, daughter Slate, was born a year after their wedding.

“From the moment you were born, we knew you were an angel on earth. And as you continue to grow (a teenager next year!), you prove that you are destined for the greatest of the great,” Teddi wrote in 2024 to mark Slate’s 12th birthday. “And you do it all with a warmth, kindness, and loving glow that makes everyone who knows you better for it.”

August 2014

Slate became a big sister in 2014 when the couple welcomed son Cruz. Due to a heart condition, Cruz spent time in a hospital's neonatal intensive care unit.

December 2017

Teddi received one RHOBH Diamond during the eighth season of the Bravo hit, which caused problems in her marriage.

“When we first started, I remember my first day, honestly, I was like, 'F–, when am I going to tell everyone I'm getting a divorce?' Like, when am I going to do this?'” Teddi recalled during a March 2023 episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “We're at our absolute worst moment, because honestly for us it was really about one Power struggle.”

She added: “We were always kind of equals when we were together. I rode, I was competitive and I was all of those things. Then I couldn't get pregnant naturally, I did all those IVFs. Then suddenly he was in charge of our finances, and I had never been that way before. I've never had no money of my own, I've worked since I was 17. Then I started hating him.”

She was eventually fired from Bravo after Season 10, but made occasional guest appearances as “Friend.”

Us weekly broke the news in September 2019 that Teddi was pregnant again after undergoing IVF. Daughter Dove was born on February 25, shortly before she was diagnosed with lambdoid craniosynostosis, which required neurosurgery.

July 2023

Over the years, Teddi and Arroyave shared honest news about their family and their relationship via social media.

“When was the last time you really told your significant other exactly what you wanted and needed? Many times I don't do this and then allow things to build up and fester,” Teddi wrote via Instagram in July. “I mean, aren’t our people mind readers? Can't you tell what my heavy, annoyed breathing means? The answer is no.”

She continued: “I tried to get in touch 100 percent directly with @tedwinator for my birthday yesterday and guess what – it worked like a charm. I said, “You can work until 11 while I go horseback riding with the kids.” “When we get back, I want to have a date with my favorite things.”… To make a long story short, marriage isn't easy and we all have it Ups and downs, but if we are vulnerable and open it can lead to one of the best days in a long time.”

Since Teddi Mellencamp was diagnosed with skin cancer, she has used her platform to remind fans to take care of their skin. In 2022, Teddi was diagnosed with skin cancer. He later chaired a melanoma cure gala to raise awareness and funds.

“I always say that life and pain are inextricably linked, and seeing @teddimellencamp embrace her pain and use it once again for the greater good last night as she hosted the @curemelanoma gala was a beautiful reminder of that “What she's capable of,” Arroyave wrote via Instagram on October 25. “Your story has already saved lives. And I couldn't be prouder that she will continue to save more. I love you, Teds.”

November 2024

Exactly a week after Arroyave's highly praised social media tribute, Teddi confirmed her intention to file for divorce.

Teddi wrote via Instagram: “I did not want to make a public statement, but in an effort to protect my family from inappropriate speculation and rumors, I felt openness, honesty and vulnerability was the best way forward.”
