Teddi Mellencamp announces divorce from Edwin Arroyave

Teddi Mellencamp is divorcing Edwin Arroyave after 13 years of marriage.

A message posted to Instagram on Saturday, November 2nd said: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Alum shared that her children are her top priority during this transition period.

“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the 43-year-old reality star wrote in her statement. “My children are my first priority and I am ensuring that their privacy and well-being are respected in this new chapter.”

“I did not want to make a public statement,” she continued, “but in an effort to protect my family from inappropriate speculation and rumors, I have felt that openness, honesty and vulnerability are the best path forward.”

Less than 24 hours before her announcement, Mellencamp appeared on a live recording of her Two Ts in one capsule Podcast with co-host Tamra Judge in Burbank, California. In the video, she can be seen interacting with fans before and after the recording and not talking about her personal life at all. Tamra's husband Eddie Judge was in attendance, but Arroyave, 47, did not appear to be there.

Mellencamp – the daughter of singer John Mellencamp – previously shared that Arroyave didn't believe in marriage when they first met.

“He came home and had tears in his eyes, and I had never really seen him cry before,” Mellencamp said in a 2019 interview with Yahoo Lifestyle.

“And he just put a blank check on the nightstand and said, 'Hey, I just wanted to tell you I love you and I went out to buy the ring today.' I'm sorry. I'll just put it on.' “Don't believe in marriage and I don't want you to break up with me.”

“I felt like the life had just been sucked out of me,” she remembers.

Arroyave, the founder and CEO of Skyline Security, eventually changed his mind and ultimately asked her to marry him the following Christmas Eve.

“Your mind plays tricks on you and at the end of the day I knew this was the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with,” Arroyave said in the same Yahoo interview.

Mellencamp and Arroyave married in 2011 and have daughters Slate (12) and Dove (4) and son Cruz (10). She is also stepmother to Arroyave's daughter Isabella (15).

Arroyave has not yet publicly commented on the split.
