Texans vs. Jets result, live updates: CJ Stroud and Houston travel to New York for Thursday Night Football

The Houston Texans' start to 2024 has begun right where the 2023 season left off. Houston won the AFC South last year and holds a two-game lead over the Colts in the division at the halfway point of the season, and the Texans have already beaten Indianapolis, so they hold the tiebreaker over the only other team in the division without a lead Record loss. CJ Stroud is once again among the league's leaders in passing yards, but will be without one of his top targets for the remainder of the year with Stefon Diggs out with a torn ACL.

The Jets, who were looking for a shot in the arm when they traded for Davante Adams a few weeks ago, have lost five straight games after a 2-1 start and find themselves at the bottom of the AFC East. Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich is looking for answers after a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots, who picked up just their second win of the season in the game. Adams hasn't made much of an impact for the Jets yet with seven catches for 84 yards, and his third week with Aaron Rodgers could be another tough night at the office as Houston boasts the No. 3 pass defense in the NFL.
