Texans WR Depth Chart: Tank Dell is now the No. 1 receiver following injuries to Stefon Diggs and Nico Collins

The Texans sit atop the AFC South at 6-2 heading into Week 9 against the Jets on Thursday Night Football. However, several injuries will force Houston to rework its offensive game plan.

The Texans' top wide receiver, Nico Collins, is on injured reserve. He suffered a right hamstring injury in Week 5 and will miss Thursday's game. The good news is that he hasn't suffered a setback yet and will return in Week 10 against the Lions.

Losing Collins was bad enough, but now the Texans have also lost No. 2 wide receiver Stefon Diggs. He tore his ACL last week against the Colts. Diggs is finished for the year and Houston will face New York without its two best wide receivers.

With both Collins and Diggs out, let's take a look at an updated depth chart for the Texans' wide receiver room.

2. Tank Dell
3. Xavier Hutchinson

Tank Dell

Dell was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he played eleven games and developed a close relationship with fellow rookie CJ Stroud early on. Dell's season ended early when he broke his leg against the Colts in late October.

Despite being fully healthy at the start of 2024, he was unable to pick up where he left off. It could be because Houston added Diggs and running back Joe Mixon to improve its offense, but the second-year wideout has been pushed down the depth chart. Now he gets a chance to be the Texans' WR1, at least against the Jets.

Xavier Hutchinson

While Dell was selected in the third round in 2023, Hutchinson was drafted in the sixth. He didn't get as many chances as Dell, so Houston will at least see him play with an expanded target share in Week 9.

Woods is the most experienced pass catcher for Houston. He was originally drafted by the Bills in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Woods spent four years in Buffalo, five years with the Rams and one season with the Titans before joining the Texans in 2023.
