Texas' poor performance against Georgia is proving to be very costly. The Bulldogs dominated the Longhorns in Austin 30-15. The first impact is a six-place drop in the U.S. LBM Coaches Poll. Texas is now ranked 6th, behind fifth-place Miami.

Meanwhile, UGA jumped to second place in the poll, behind new No. 1 Oregon.

The 'Dawgs defeated Texas in every way and completely humiliated the Longhorns. All praise and praise from the first seven weeks of the season is out the window. All sorts of disadvantages, like a weak schedule early in the season, are now real disadvantages.

In one night, Texas went from being “the” team to being one of the teams hoping to make the College Football Playoff.

The other big drop was Alabama, which fell eight spots to No. 15 after losing to Tennessee in Knoxville.
