The Arizona Cardinals get a big win with the help of the former Stanford WR

The Arizona Cardinals desperately needed a win on Sunday, and the NFC West race was wide open. Fortunately, a last-second field goal from Chad Ryland was enough for the Cardinals to beat the Miami Dolphins 28-27, extending their winning streak to two in a row and improving their overall record to 4-4. However, had former Stanford star Michael Wilson not caught a touchdown early in the game, things could have been very different for Arizona.

Trailing 10-0 at his opponent's six-yard line early in the second quarter, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray dropped back to pass out of the shotgun, moving around the pocket before diving in behind Finding a wide-open Wilson in the end zone to cut, the Dolphins only lead 10-7.

Overall, Wilson caught five passes for 31 yards on the day and finished the afternoon as the team's third-leading receiver, behind tight end Trey McBride and rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. This season, Wilson has now caught 39 passes for 283 yards, three touchdowns and has proven to be a strong complement to Harrison.

After playing in 13 games as a rookie in 2023, catching 38 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns, Wilson entered this year eager to build on his strong first season. Although he currently has fewer yards than last year, he has already surpassed the number of catches and equalized the number of touchdowns caught.

With this week's win, the Cardinals are tied atop the NFC West, with the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers having the same record as them. Arizona is now in a prime position to make a run and secure its first playoff spot since 2021. Their next game is November 3rd when they return home to host the Chicago Bears. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. (PT).
