The Cowboys are trying to contain Kirk Cousins to end the losing streak

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Dallas Cowboys enter the ninth week of the season against the Atlanta Falcons with a three-game losing streak.

The Falcons are coming off a big win against Tampa Bay, where quarterback Kirk Cousin recorded four touchdowns, 284 yards passing and 23 of 29. Following this performance, Cousin was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Dallas' defense will have a tough task ahead of them as they try to keep Cousins in check to pick up their first win in four. The team will still be without linebacker Micah Parsons and possibly cornerback Trevon Diggs, who is dealing with a calf injury.

“The defense has to get something done by putting pressure on the quarterback, and this week they have to put pressure on Kirk Cousins,” Dallas Insider's Mikey Spagnola said. “You know where Kirk Cousins will be. He'll be in the pocket, he won't climb, he won't have any prescribed runs. You need to put pressure on him to force some mistakes. This is nothing new, they just need to do better.”

Another focus will be preventing the team from suffering losses of its own before Sunday's two interceptions in the Cowboys' last three games. Taking care of the ball also gives Dallas more time of possession and keeps Cousins and Co. off the field, limiting his abilities.

Dallas will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday, November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. MT.
