The free PlayStation 5 Pro console is available now, but you have 1 week to claim it – Playstation

There's not much better than getting free video games or DLC, but how about a fancy new PlayStation 5 Pro console?

After months of speculation, Sony finally announced that the PlayStation 5 Pro is real and will launch later this week. The PS5 Pro offers improved resolution and ray tracing with a higher frame rate.

If you're lucky, you'll not only be able to get the Pro console in the traditional white PlayStation 5 palette, but you'll also be able to order the beautiful 30th Anniversary Edition, inspired by the OG console released in 1994.

“A traditional color scheme that pays homage to the iconic original PlayStation console, released on December 3, 1994. Each Limited Edition PS5 Pro console for sale is individually numbered as a collector's item, and only 12,300 of these numbered consoles will be available for customers to purchase worldwide,” the product description reads.

Unfortunately, for most PlayStation gamers, getting their hands on this anniversary console was a near-impossible task, as much of the stock was gobbled up by greedy dealers looking to resell the console for huge profits.

If you were one of the gamers who missed out on pre-ordering the PlayStation 5 Pro 30th anniversary console, there appears to be one last hope: winning an official competition with Sony.

“For a chance to win a PS5 30th Anniversary Digital Edition, reply to this post with a photo of the gift you received when you received a PlayStation and tell us the story behind it,” PlayStation UK tweeted . “Christmas or birthday, from PS1 to PS5.”

Admittedly, the chances of you winning this competition are very slim considering how many entries it will generate, but it has to be worth a try, right?

The standard white PlayStation 5 Pro launches on November 7th, while its 30th anniversary counterpart launches on November 21st, 2024.
