The death of Ratan Tata has left an indelible void across India and tributes are pouring in from all parts of the country. People have taken to social media to express their admiration and sadness for the legendary industrialist, whose contributions spanned decades. His death coincided with the ongoing Navratri festival and in a moving gesture, revelers in Mumbai paused their celebrations to pay their respects.

During a Garba night at the Nesco Grounds in Goregaon, known for hosting one of the biggest Navratri events in the city, participants interrupted the celebrations to honor Tata. A video shared on X by a user named Sunny captured the moment participants observed a minute's silence while the song “Vida Karo” played quietly in the background. “The Nesco premises in Goregaon organizes the biggest Garba event every year, but yesterday they stopped in between to pay tribute to the legend Ratan Tata Sir,” he wrote.

Another video showed a similar scene, with participants lighting up the night with their smartphone flashlights as a symbolic tribute. “We sincerely hope that his soul finds peace, especially on such a holy day,” a post accompanying the video reads.

Social media continued to be flooded with tributes. “Ratan Tata’s vision and commitment to India’s development will always be remembered. Om Shanti,” one user commented, while another called him “a great son of India.”

Ratan Tata passed away at 11:30 pm on October 9 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after a long illness.
