As expected, Amazon is offering some great discounts on its own devices as part of its Prime Day event in October – including e-readers like the note-taking Kindle Scribe, which is down to $254.99 ($85 off) at Amazon. The truly standout Kindle offering, however, is the Kindle Paperwhite Kids. Normally $169.99, it's currently down to $114.99 ($55 off) at Amazon, which is $5 off its previous best price.

If you want a Kindle Paperwhite without ads, you'll typically have to pay $169.99 for the privilege. Luckily, however, the Kindle Paperwhite Kids offers a way around this, making it a great e-reader for the whole family. Although it's marketed towards kids, the kid-friendly device has the same features we loved on the standard 2021 Kindle Paperwhite – but without the annoying lockscreen ads. That means it has a sharp 6.8-inch display and IPX8 water resistance, so you can read even in the bath.
