The Knicks' Josh Hart isn't ruled out playing against the Heat after suffering an ankle injury

Josh Hart is already dealing with multiple injuries, but the Knicks' versatile winger has not yet been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Miami.

Hart played against the Cavaliers on Monday night after being listed as questionable with an ankle injury, but left the game with four minutes left in the fourth quarter after a collision at midfield.

Hart was again listed as questionable for the Heat game as the team now listed a lower leg contusion.

Hart has averaged 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in 33 minutes per game in three starts this season. If he is unable to play on Wednesday night, he would likely be replaced by Miles McBride in the starting lineup.

With just under five minutes left in Monday's loss to the Cavs, Hart collided with Caris LeVert while fighting for a loose ball and fell to the ground in pain.

He stayed in the game briefly and sank two free throws, but came out of the game at the next timeout and limped back to the locker room with 4:04 left.

Hart did not return to the bench or speak to reporters afterward and finished the game with 16 points, 13 rebounds and three steals in 38 minutes.

“It's hard to see someone not finish the game, and you want your brothers out there to finish the game with you,” teammate Jalen Brunson said. “I mean, we'll see. I don’t know what the situation is, but we’ll see how it goes.”

With two new starters following trades for Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns, Hart admitted in the preseason that he was unsure of his role. But he has posted a double-double in each of the team's last two games.

“You know it’s definitely going to be the same,” Thibodeau said of Hart. “Whether he starts or comes off the bench, you know he’s going to fit in. And it already exists. So there are simply new pieces in the preseason. You have to get through it.”

Kevin Love (personal reasons) is out due to the heat.
