The LA Rams' playoff odds more than doubled after a thrilling win in Week 8

How do you feel about the LA Rams now? After an impressive win in Week 8, the team not only finally beat an NFC North Division opponent, but also won its second straight game. With the win, the Rams have now defeated two NFC teams, ensuring that they will no longer be left behind when deciding the right seeding for the 2025 NFL Playoffs.

At least not against the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings.

The Rams, at one point a 1-4 team, had became the undoing of the NFL playoff contenders. The team's chances were reduced by the probability of getting a scratch ticket. And as the team faced determined opponents, the path back to postseason relevance seemed to be an uphill climb. But never discount these Rams.

Now, after a two-game winning streak and an impressive victory over the now 5-2 Minnesota Vikings, not only are the Rams within striking distance of contending for the NFC West division title, but this team is also making progress toward the NFL 2025 playoffs.

Per playoffstatus.comAfter the Rams' victory on Thursday Night Football, they again have a 32 percent chance of appearing in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Playoffs. That's way better than the 12 percent chance of showing up just three weeks ago. And best of all: the positive momentum is on their side.

This team finds ways to win, and they do so in impressive and surprising ways. Not only did the Rams defeat the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 30-20, but the offensive line held one of the most dominant defensive fronts (24 QB sacks in just six games) to zero quarterback sacks. This made Stafford feel comfortable enough to throw four touchdown passes in the game. Before this scoring festival, he had only thrown three touchdown passes all season.

While no team still on the Rams' schedule is afraid to face them, that could change. After picking up two straight wins against the Las Vegas Raiders and the Minnesota Vikings, this team can no longer be considered a sure win for any team.

Similar to 2023, the team emerged from BYE week with the mindset of being victorious. Instead of picking up seven wins after a 3-6 start, this team has already picked up two wins after a 1-4 start. Stay tuned because it could get very interesting.
