The McDonald's fan favorite from the '80s returns to the menu

Once a fan favorite across the UK in the 1980s, Mcdonald's McRib has returned. If you live in Somerset you can try it today.

I don't usually like to highlight chain restaurants like McDonald's in my reviews, and given today's prices, I would recommend you just go to a restaurant or, better yet, make a healthy meal at home that won't cost a bomb.

But since I needed that late night cheat meal, I decided to see what all the fuss was about since I've never tried a “McRib” before.

As I drove to the drive-thru at Heron Gate in Taunton, I saw lots of advertising for this new food offering, along with other promotions that McDonald's was running.

These included a Marshmellow Latte, a Halloween M&M McFlurry and a Toffee Apple Pie.

I chose a medium meal with the McRib and went to the counter to pay.

I was shocked to see that a meal of this burger (which you'll be a little surprised to see) cost £6.99.

The McRib serves a boneless rib meat patty with onions, pickles and BBQ sauce, all on a sliced ​​bun. and a drink.

Well, I don't go to McDonalds often, but I still feel like the price of the food is a bit high for what you get.

The McRib returned to McDonald's across the UK yesterday, including in restaurants in Somerset. But is it really good?

McDonald's employees have reportedly undergone special training on how to handle the McRib, which is cooked on the left plate of the quarter grill.

This will prevent juices from getting into the middle baking plate, which is intended for cooking beef.

I didn't have the luxury of trying the sandwich in the 1980s, so let me know if it's different, but this was just a little disappointing.

The burger barely had any BBQ sauce, but luckily I was able to add some which made it taste a little better.

The taste was okay, but if I had to choose again I would just use something else or cook something at home.

I also barely had any onions or cucumbers, which isn't great if you're looking for more flavor.

Let me know if you're thinking about trying it out. I would say give it a try because the taste isn't bad but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired and the fact that I had to add my own sauce wasn't that great.

When asked if the McRib would never be brought back permanently, McDonald's responded: “Unfortunately, many of our restaurants do not have sufficient grilling capacity to prepare pork and beef products simultaneously.”

“The breakfast menu is different because we don’t serve beef products, so we can have our own grill for all of our delicious pork products.”

To be honest, I wish I had just ordered the Marshmellow Latte.
