The predictions for Isaiah Denis, the UNC basketball team's in-state target, are right

Earlier this week, it appeared as if Wake Forest had suddenly become the presumptive leading candidate for Davidson Day School (NC) senior and top UNC basketball recruiting target Isaiah Denis. In fact, as recently as Wednesday evening, HS Top Recruits noted that its sources “believe UNC has pulled back a bit.”

But as the 6-foot-1, 175-pound four-star guard prepares to announce his decision on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, fourth-year Tar Heel head coach Hubert Davis and his team have announced in the Eyes of Tar Heel take the lead again Insider.

All three Rivals FutureCast predictions suggest UNC has the edge. Two of those predictions popped up Saturday morning, including one that went from the Demon Deacons to the Tar Heels.

Also on Saturday morning, national recruiting insider Trilly Donovan incognito posted the following GIF, presumably a last-minute reference to the Tar Heels winning the Isaiah Denis sweepstakes:

His six finalists are UNC, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Miami, Pitt and Ohio State.

Denis, who attended all of those schools, is ranked No. 62 overall, No. 9 among combo guards and No. 2 in North Carolina in the 247Sports 2025 Composite.

The YouTube channel 247Sports will broadcast his engagement live.

If the latest predictions prove correct, Davis & Co. will give Gonzaga College High School (DC) four-star guard Derek Dixon some company in the 2025 UNC basketball recruiting process. Dixon, who is ranked No. 47 overall in the cycle, announced his commitment to the Tar Heels at the end of September.
