The Seattle Seahawks activate safety and call up two players from the practice squad

Safety Jerrick Reed the II will make his season debut for the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Seattle Seahawks Injuries: One key player returns, but another likely out

The Seahawks activated the 2023 sixth-round pick from injured reserve on Saturday.

Seattle also signed cornerbacks Josh Jobe and Faion Hicks from the practice squad for the second straight year.

Reed made eleven tackles in ten games (nine of them solo) and was active mostly on special teams before his rookie season was cut short by a torn ACL. Despite limited playing opportunities, he was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team on special teams. Reed will provide additional safety for the Seahawks with starter Rayshawn Jenkins as IR.

Jobe and Hicks made their Seahawks debuts last week against the Atlanta Falcons as the secondary struggled with injuries to Riq Woolen and Tre Brown. Jobe recorded six tackles (three solo) and two passes defensed while playing 65 defensive snaps. He allowed three catches for 32 yards on seven targets, according to Pro Football Focus. Hicks had one tackle while splitting time between defense and special teams.

The pair gives Seattle some security at cornerback on Sunday, as Brown (ankle) and rookie cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett (ankle) are both listed as questionable against the Bills. Woolen is not on the injured list after missing the last two games.
