The Seattle Seahawks will trade DK Metcalf to the Buffalo Bills

The Seattle Seahawks will trade DK Metcalf to the Buffalo Bills

After a 3-0 start, the Seattle Seahawks are now 3-3. They face a major crossroads in deciding what to do at their quarterback position because it's clear that Geno Smith is holding them back. They could select Sam Howell to finish the season, but they also need to secure first-round picks to ensure they have a young quarterback under center for the future. They do this by hitting the trade deadline and trading DK Metcalf.

It's clear from the poor play of a quarterback like Smith that Metcalf is becoming frustrated, as evidenced by the weekly angry looks on the sidelines. Metcalf is a talented receiver who has accumulated 6,204 yards, an average of 14.6 yards per reception, and 50 touchdowns on 426 receptions. Metcalf is able to use his size to outwit defenders at the catch point, and despite being a larger receiver, he is able to gain distance easily. With the emergence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and still Tyler Lockett and Jake Bobo, it would make the Metcalf transition a little easier.

The team that initiates this trade has to be the Buffalo Bills. While this would require multiple first and second round picks and perhaps a player like Von Miller, Buffalo needs to do this. Although he has Josh Allen at quarterback, who is great at developing the talent around him, he can only perform so much when the wide receivers struggle to gain spacing.

Keon Coleman, like Khalil Shakir, has struggled to gain distance and is instead relying on the two to gain yards after the catch. For these two to fully thrive, the Bills need to get a true top receiver to take the pressure off them while keeping the offense stable by providing that extra attention. Metcalf would be the ideal target for Allen with his size and athleticism, and this offense and play with Allen would be ideal for Metcalf.
