The Sitdown with Dom Izzo: North Dakota hockey coach Brad Berry on ending a national title drought – InForum

A new University of North Dakota hockey season begins this weekend in Grand Forks when the Fighting Hawks host Providence College on Saturday night.

It's been another offseason full of changes for Brad Berry, who enters his 10th season as head coach at UND. After a national championship season in his first year as head coach, it was a roller coaster ride of regular season success but postseason failure. UND has had just one NCAA Tournament win since 2017.

During that same period, the Fighting Hawks have missed the NCAA Tournament three times.

Berry talks about how he and his team responded to the national title drought before the season and navigating the transfer portal as UND added a goalie transfer for the third straight year.

Berry also talks about the best players he has played against and coached, as well as his least favorite rink.

He also discusses how local hockey has changed college recruiting.

The Sitdown is available on Inforum.com and WDAY Plus.
