The Steelers need to make three trades to capitalize on the Ravens' early loss to the Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers won without a game on Sunday. The Baltimore Ravens lost to the last-place Cleveland Browns. The Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Essentially, this means the Steelers can clinch a first-place finish in the AFC North heading into Week 9. Pittsburgh has a bye this week.

Pittsburgh general manager Omar Khan is certainly aware of this, but the Steelers have yet to make a move on one of their key needs, which includes offensive line depth and a WR2. Thanks to the emergence of Russell Wilson, the Steelers should have a competent passing attack. Wilson isn't perfect by any means, but he's opened up the Steelers' offense enough that he's thinking about adding more options on the outside.

Pittsburgh faces the New York Giants on Monday night and can move to 6-2 with a win. That would take them into first place in the AFC North, which is Tomlin's goal every season.

The Steelers have needed a wide receiver for months, but instead of addressing their primary need, Pittsburgh chose to ignore him. Pickens is as capable as their WR1, but Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin III are…not. A capable defense will shut down Pickens, and the Steelers' other wide receivers offer little separation. This is where a trade should come into play.

Personally, I thought DeAndre Hopkins would have been a great fit in the Steel City. He was affordable and he can play against Pickens as an underdog. The Steelers are not a pass-heavy team, but they throw enough and are a clear contender.

Instead, Pittsburgh balked at the asking price. Maybe Kirk fits the bill, but the Steelers have already let down Hopkins and Davante Adams. Fans don't have much hope. Whatever the addition is, it will be disappointing. Still, it will be better than their current options.

Mike Williams is by no means a bad wide receiver, but he isn't wanted in New York. The Jets lost another game on Sunday against the New England Patriots. New York traded for Davante Adams just two weeks ago. His first two games in New York (New Jersey) didn't go according to plan. Finally, the Jets need to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Williams would fit well in Pittsburgh and easily compete for the WR2 spot upon his arrival. However, there is no guarantee he will start immediately in the Steelers system. Tomlin is notoriously tough on new players and won't back down over a front office takeover.

According to head coach Sean McVay, the Los Angeles Rams claim they will not trade Cooper Kupp. But if I were Khan, I would offer a deal Los Angeles can't refuse. Kupp is a 1,000-yard receiver when healthy, and he is currently at his best. As much as the trade rumors are currently bothering Kupp, the Rams cannot and should not turn down an offer, such as a conditional third-round pick for him.

Kupp won't single-handedly solve the Steelers' wide receiver problems, but as long as they're betting on Russell Wilson, they should consider giving him the weapons needed to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.

Wilson has been productive offensively, but he can only produce so much at this point. Adding any of these three goals would make a big difference in the long run.
