The Las Vegas Raiders have pulled the trigger and fired three of their top coaches in an attempt to turn around a miserable start to the NFL season.

Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello all received the boot just nine games into their Raiders careers.

The team is off to a 2-7 start to the 2024 season and suffered a terrible 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, extending their losing streak to five games.

It's the team's worst run since 2018, and now management has decided to take action as owner Mark Davis becomes increasingly concerned as he watches from the stands.

After the game, head coach Antonio Pierce said: “It wasn't a good day at the office.” It applies to all of us. I mean, it's a group effort. It's a team effort.

“We all have to find a way to do better.” We want to take from this game and look at a lot of things, from coaches to players' play calls to execution and situations where we all do a much better job and “Being able to put ourselves in a position to get into the fourth quarter and actually have a chance to win – not always catch up.”

Getsy, Cregg and Scangarello were all in their first seasons with the Raiders, but the offense — first led by quarterback Aidan O'Connell and now by Gardner Minshew — has dried up.

In their current five-game losing streak, the Raiders managed just four touchdowns on 50 drives, three of which came in the final minutes of the game when the team was trailing by more than 20 points.

It's a fall in particular for Getsy, who impressed in his previous role with the Chicago Bears, orchestrating the No. 1 and No. 2 rushing offenses in the NFL during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, respectively.

Getsy was fired by the Bears in January and hired by the Raiders in February and was moved from the field to the press box to call games two weeks ago.

The Raiders now enter their bye week looking for a new OC before traveling to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 11.
