The Phoenix Suns (5-1) extended their winning streak to four when they held off a late comeback from the Portland Trail Blazers 103-97 on Saturday.

The Suns' Big 3 of Devin Booker (game-high 28 points, nine assists), Kevin Durant (21 points, nine rebounds) and Bradley Beal (15 points, seven rebounds, four assists) led their big third-quarter surge The lead was 26 at the start of the fourth quarter, which helped them stay ahead until the end.

But the Blazers' top scorers, Jerami Grant (20 points, 7 rebounds), Anfernee Simons (20 points, 8 assists, 6 assists) and Deandre Ayton (10 points, 13 rebounds), worked together to reduce the lead in the final minute two .

Booker's bonus free throws after a Grant foul with 4.3 minutes left in the game sealed the victory.

Phoenix opened the game wide with its 3-pointer in the third period and took a commanding lead 87-65.

After shooting 29.6% in the first half, the Suns hit 9 of their 17 treys and shot over 50% from beyond the arc in the third period. The Suns went on an 11-2 run and regained the lead by five points just after the 10-minute mark. The Blazers tied the score at 54-54 with 9:15 left, then the Suns went on another 26-4 run to reach their largest lead of the game, 22, in the final minutes.

The game's best scorers are Kevin Durant (21 points), Devin Booker (18) and Bradley Beal (13) for the Suns.

Durant scored nine of his game-high 14 points in the second quarter, but the Suns gave up the lead, trailing 47-43 at halftime.

He also scored his 10,000th career field goal in the opening minutes of the second, making him the only active players to reach that mark along with Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James.

The Suns began the quarter with a 7-0 run within the first two minutes after Durant's four-point game and another three from him. This increased their largest lead to 11.

The Blazers then rallied and regained a 47-43 lead in the final minutes of the half, led by Jerami Grant with 11 points and Anfernee Simons with 10 points.

Suns are ahead after a close first quarter

It was a poor opening period with Phoenix leading Portland 22-18.

Devin Booker has the Suns' most points (six), while Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have five each. Deandre Ayton from the Blazers has provided the most performances for his team so far with five points and four rebounds.

Both teams shot poorly, just 30% for Phoenix and 20.7% for Portland.

Suns coach Mike Budenholzer said in his pregame media release that Bradley Beal (elbow) has been upgraded to available. He is back in the starting lineup with Tyus Jones, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Jusuf Nurkic.

The Trail Blazers started forwards Jerami Grant and Toumani Camara, center Deandre Ayton and guards Deni Avdija and Anfernee Simons.

Beal wants to return, Okogie is making his season debut for the Suns

Bradley Beal (questionable, right elbow soreness) said in the media at the Suns' shootaround on Saturday that he was feeling better and would try to return to the starting lineup against Portland. Beal missed Phoenix's 125-119 win at the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, the second game he missed since the Suns' regular season began on Oct. 23 against the same team.

Suns reserve forward Josh Okogie (hamstring) is expected to make his season debut against Portland.

The Blazers' Shaedon Sharpe (shoulder), Matisse Thybulle (knee) and Robert Williams III (hamstring) are out.
