The UNC football program announced the death of Tylee Craft

It's a very sad day in Chapel Hill.

Following the UNC football program's heartbreaking loss to Georgia Tech, head coach Mack Brown announced that Tylee Craft passed away Saturday morning after his battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

Since March 2022, Tylee Craft has been battling stage four lung cancer. Although his battle was challenging, Craft never lost his love for the UNC football program as he participated in the program as much as possible.

On Saturday, Craft's teammate JJ Jones wore his jersey and scored a touchdown in his honor. In the CW broadcast, Jones can be seen pointing to the sky as he makes his way to the sideline. During the break between the first and second quarters, Craft's family was honored on the field at Kenan Stadium as Mack Brown and Craft's mother, September, shared a long, emotional hug.

Now we fully understand why many people were on the field with heavy hearts for the UNC football program this afternoon.

Whenever Tylee Craft was around, you would always see him with a smile on his face as he truly loved being a Tar Heel and being a part of the UNC football program. You can tell how much his teammates love him just by how much they supported him in this tough battle, which he fought with all his might.

Needless to say, we will miss Tylee Craft terribly, but we will always be #TyleeStrong.

The Keeping It Heel team sends our thoughts and prayers to Tylee Craft's family, including his UNC football family.
