The Yankees World Series cap was unveiled as fans lined up early for merch

Yankees fans wasted no time getting their hands on World Series merchandise.

After waiting 15 years for the Bronx Bombers to win another American League championship, fans lined up Sunday morning to get into the team store at Yankee Stadium and buy clothing, including Yankees caps with the sewn-on 2024 World Series patch on side.

The Yankees defeated the Guardians in five games in the ALCS and clinched the pennant Saturday night in Cleveland after Juan Soto made his mark with a three-run home run in the 10th inning to give the Yankees a 5-2 lead.

The last time the Yanks were in the World Series was when they won the title in 2009.

And while Saturday was a celebratory evening, just getting on the big stage won't be enough for the Yankees and their championship-hungry fan base.

“We didn’t come here for this,” Aaron Judge told reporters as champagne was sprayed over the visitors’ clubhouse Saturday night. “We came here for the ultimate prize.”

They await the Mets or Dodgers, with the Mets trailing 3-2 in the NLCS heading into Game 6 on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Should the Yankees face the Dodgers, it would be the twelfth time the two have met in the Fall Classic; The Yanks have won eight of their 11 World Series meetings, but the last time Los Angeles won in six games was in 1981.

A meeting with the Mets would mean there would be a Subway World Series for the second time in history; The Yankees defeated the Mets in five games in the 2000 Series.
