Thunder vs. Clippers prediction, tips and odds for today's NBA game

OKC remains perfect this season and will have little trouble providing coverage against Los Angeles.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the last undefeated team in the Western Conference and they will look to keep it that way when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome tonight.

OKC played phenomenal on both ends of the court, and my Thunder vs. Clippers predictions are for Oklahoma City to make it on the road.

Thunder vs Clippers Prediction

My best choice
Thunder -6 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis
The Oklahoma City Thunder have the best defense in the association and are allowing just 98.6 points per game in five games. The Thunder rank 10th with 117.2 points per game and the team is outscoring its opponents by 18.6 points per game – the second-best point differential in the NBA.

The Los Angeles Clippers also played strong defense and conceded the tenth fewest points per game with just 111, but the offense wasn't quite as productive. Los Angeles ranks 20th with just 111.6 points per game, a difference of 0.6 points.

The Clippers are 3-0 straight up at home, and even though the team has lost all three games by a margin of six points or less, I'm betting on the Thunder to provide cover. Without Paul George or Kawhi Leonard, this team has one of the least talented rosters in the Western Conference from top to bottom.

In contrast, the Thunder's roster is one of the most talented and I expect the better team to come out on top. Oklahoma City is a top-10 team in both offense and defense, and LA won't be able to cover that spread at home.

Thunder vs. Clippers, same game play

Thunder -6

Ivica Zubac Over 11.5 rebounds

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 1.5 threes

Ivica Zubac has logged a career-high 35.4 minutes this season and is making the most of the opportunity. Los Angeles' center rotation was thinned in the offseason with the losses of Mason Plumlee and Daniel Theis, and Zubac is averaging career-highs in points (19.2) and rebounds (13.2).

Zubac has grabbed at least 12 rebounds in four straight games, and OKC is giving up the most rebounds to opponents this season. This is a simple over.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander isn't known as a prolific 3-point shooter, but entering the 2024-25 season he's shooting from distance far more frequently. After attempting just 3.6 triples per game a season ago, he's averaging 7.8 per tilt through five games.

SGA averages 2.0 three-pointers and has scored at least that many in four of five games this season. The Clippers allow the third-highest 3-point percentage to opponents, which puts Gilgeous-Alexander in a good position to take advantage.
