Today's Wordle Answer #1,234 Clues and Clues for Monday November 4th

If you start your week with one Wordle Puzzle, Newsweek is here to help you and get you off to a smooth start.

Wordle is The New York Times' most popular word game, closely followed by popular game Connections.

The newspaper bought it from Josh Wardle in January 2022 after it acquired 2 million players in just four months.

Before we get in NewsweekHints, tips and the final answer for Monday's game (so be careful when scrolling, let's recap how to play).

How to play Wordle

The purpose of the game is to guess the correct five-letter word. When you type a letter into a block, its color changes.

Green means the right letter is in the right place, gray means the letter is not in the word at all, and yellow means you have the right letter but in the wrong place.

You have a total of six guesses.

Tips on where to start

Players have said that one way to start each puzzle with the same word every time is to start.

This will give you a foundation to start from and the results will hopefully give you a clue as to your next stop.

But another player, author John Green, takes a completely different strategy and uses an entirely new word every time he plays the game.

Green told this NYT: “I know this isn't the ideal strategy, not even a good one, but I like it. I usually get them in four rounds, which is perfect for me because the stress of the fifth and sixth guesses is almost unbearable.”

Other tips include starting with a word that has a lot of vowels—like “audio” or “canoe”—and trying two very different words in the first two lines to cover all the bases.
