Tom Brady loves the Detroit Lions offense.

The Lions took a two-touchdown lead over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Early in the second quarter, with the Lions leading 10-3 at midfield, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson triggered a double reverse flea flicker that ultimately resulted in a 52-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to tight end Sam LaPorta.

Goff threw it to David Montgomery, who threw it back to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who passed it back to Goff, and the quarterback fired a strike to the wide-open tight end on the sideline. LaPorta initially blocked, then ran down the right side, caught the ball at the 30-yard line and outran the defense for his first score of the season.

On the Fox broadcast, Brady, a Hall of Fame quarterback and first-year color commentator, was mesmerized by the Lions' creativity and performance.

“Come on,” Brady said. “If you don’t enjoy watching it, you don’t have a heartbeat.”

After the commercial break, he explained why he's so impressed with the Lions' offense, starting with Johnson's style of play and system under head coach Dan Campbell.

“I would love to be the quarterback in this offense, it’s just so much fun,” said an exuberant Brady. “There is a large selection here too. … When I look at this offense, I remember what a great offense should be in the NFL. That's a great blueprint, they're under center a lot. “A lot of it is play-action passing, a lot of deception, so it really slows down the defense and you see the benefits of that.”

The touchdown, which drew a few audible chants of “Jared Goff” from the Lions squad at AT&T Stadium, was the same play concept as LaPorta's touchdown last season against the Carolina Panthers in his record-setting rookie year.

The Lions ran up the score against the Cowboys' decimated defense and led 27-6 at halftime.
