Spider-Man's Tom Holland will star alongside Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan's next film.

According to Deadline, Holland is in talks to star in the project alongside Damon. Details on this are unknown, except that it is scheduled for release in July 2026.

News of the project broke in early October after it was reported that Nolan had decided to produce it with Hollywood studio Universal, which had backed his last film, the multiple Oscar-winning Oppenheimer. Nolan had previously remained loyal to Warner Bros., with whom he had worked since his 2002 film “Insomnia,” but their relationship ended after the studio temporarily gave up exclusive theatrical distribution during the Covid pandemic.

Nolan has cast Damon twice before, as an astronaut in “Interstellar” and as a Manhattan Project director in “Oppenheimer.” However, the new project would be the director's first collaboration with Holland, whose three Spider-Man films grossed $3.9 billion worldwide, according to Office.

Holland recently completed a performance in a stage production of “Romeo and Juliet” opposite Francesca Amewudah-Rivers in London's West End and is set to film a fourth Spider-Man film next year after reports emerged that “Shang- Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”. Destin Daniel Cretton was hired as director.
