In recent (and big) Twitch news, the popular live streaming platform is now counting raids towards partner status. This is a huge win for the Twitch streaming community, as many have been begging for raids to count toward partner status for years.

The news first broke when a member of Twitch's Global Partner Operations team responded to a streamer who told people that raids should count toward the 75 average viewers required to apply to become a partner.

“We’re actually including raids now,” Angela said itswoori on Twitter. Angela is also part of the Twitch Global Partner Operations team. “We don’t want to punish the idea of ​​networking and community.”

Many streamers on the Internet celebrated this current news. Raids have always been an important aspect of growing on Twitch. Now that they count toward partner status, many streamers will use their platforms to help others (hopefully).

This support from bigger creators is exactly what was needed in the streaming community. However, many never seem to raid smaller streamers, possibly because their raid wouldn't actually help work with the smaller streamer.

However, now streamers can celebrate upcoming raids in the hopes that it will earn them the purple checkmark on Twitch.
