Tyreek Hill reviews DeAndre Hopkins' dominant game in a social media post

The Kansas City Chiefs' perfect run to start the 2024 NFL season remained intact with Monday's 30-24 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While several Chiefs contributed to the team's eighth victory, few played a more important role than wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Try as they might, the Buccaneers could do nothing to slow the 32-year-old playmaker. Hopkins caught all but one of the nine passes sent to him by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and converted those chances into 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Unsurprisingly, Hopkins' performance has garnered attention across the league – including that of a former Chiefs fan favorite.

Former Chiefs wideout and current Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill took to social media Tuesday morning to share his thoughts on Hopkins. The speedy pass catcher summed up his thoughts in a clear five-word reaction: “Happy D-Hop s— looks good.”

The fact that Hill commented on Hopkins' dominant play shows that he still has his eyes on his former team. The 30-year-old speedster, a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs in 2016, was traded to the Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks ahead of the 2022 NFL season.

Whether he comes from Hill or elsewhere, Hopkins deserves every ounce of praise he gets for his latest performance. His first touchdown of the night gave the Chiefs a three-point lead before halftime, while his second TD score gave his new team a one-possession lead with less than five minutes to play.

Hill knows how useful playing alongside Mahomes can be, which is probably another reason he was thrilled with Hopkins' performance. The eight-time Pro Bowl playmaker amassed 4,854 receiving yards and 43 touchdowns on 343 catches from 2018 to 2021 with Mahomes as his quarterback.

Time will tell if Hopkins can also take advantage of the Chiefs' quarterback situation. Mahomes knows how to distribute the ball better than anyone, meaning the veteran receiver's recent deployment may not be a one-time feat.

However, Hopkins and the rest of the Chiefs' pass catchers face a tough test when they host the Denver Broncos in Week 10. The Broncos' secondary doesn't give opponents much to work with, allowing just 186.6 receiving yards per game (6th) and 8.8 yards per completion (3rd).

Even though Denver's defense is strong, oddsmakers still love Kansas City. FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists the Chiefs as 8.5-point home favorites over the Broncos ahead of Sunday afternoon's showdown.
