Now, with half the country morbidly depressed, the Washington Capitals are back on the ice to try to unite and cheer us up. Tonight they host Country Music Night at Capital One Arena and will be wearing their black Screaming Eagle jerseys for the first time this season.

The Hershey Bears' 2024 Calder Cup championship team will also be honored before the puck drop.

Nashville is in last place in the Central Division and starts the year 4-7-1. GM Barry Despite has threatened a rebuild if the Preds don't find their footing quickly.

The Capitals have Matt Roy returning to the lineup after injury and will play in just his second game this season. Logan Thompson will be back in goal.
