Weather Warning: Still warm but a bit windy and a bit wet on Wednesday

ROCHESTER, NY – We had another day of warmer than average temperatures on Tuesday, with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The record for Tuesday's date is 82 degrees, set in 1979, and some places are reaching that level!

Wednesday will be another warm day, but temperatures will remain in the lower to mid 70s with clouds increasing throughout the day. An approaching cold front will increase winds during the day, and it will be windy for a few hours later in the afternoon/evening as the front moves through. The wind is blowing at speeds of 30-35 miles per hour, which shouldn't cause any problems, but you may want to secure any Halloween decorations you may have.

Showers will arrive around dinner time and will only last a few hours, but from Thursday morning temperatures will steadily fall into the 40s. On Thursday the sky will clear and although it will be significantly cooler, it will be a very beautiful autumn afternoon. Another weak disturbance on Friday could bring a shower or two later in the afternoon or evening, but much of the day is expected to be dry.

The weekend looks mostly dry, but Saturday will now be a little cooler with a slight chance of a shower. Sunday still looks good and we expect another warm-up next week with highs pushing into the 70s by midweek.

The trend is warmer on Halloween too, with the possibility of staying in the 70s on Thursday. However, with more than a week to go, we'll be keeping an eye on any changes to the spooky trick-or-treating forecast.
