Fantasy managers who didn't pay attention to Drake Maye's emergence in New England have no choice but to pay attention and take notice after the rookie quarterback tied the game against the Tennessee Titans and left the Week 9 matchup in sent the extension.

Maye finished the game with 207 yards, a passing touchdown through the air and eight carries for 96 yards.

Sure, he threw two interceptions and the Patriots ultimately lost the game, but Maye showed the star that the team hoped he would be when they selected him at the top of the 2024 class.

He has thrown six touchdowns in his last four starts and has shown the ability to pull the ball down and run when the opportunity arises.

Is it a must? Not by a long shot, but he's a dual-threat quarterback who has proven he can be a game-changer for a Patriots team that has seemingly been allergic to offense since Tom Brady's departure in 2021.

Managers in lower leagues should grab him and hide him because every start brings more confidence and therefore stronger play.

If what we've seen from Maye so far is just “scratching the surface,” he'll be an entertaining fantasy play as he starts to find consistency and build momentum.

The rookie has a pretty tough matchup against a second-string Chicago Bears quarterback, allowing just 11.05 points. Considering he'll be facing No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams and trying to prove his worth, he could still prove valuable if he can find running lanes.

Regardless, Maye is a long-term value adder.
