Who will play the World Series national anthem tonight? – NBC New York

The World Series continues Wednesday night in the Bronx with the Dodgers leading 3-1. In addition to the Yankees and Dodgers' on-field performances, the music royalty's performances before and during the game also had fans talking.

Leslie Odom Jr. and Ashanti sang the national anthem at the first two games of the World Series held at Yankee Stadium.

Major League Baseball has announced that 13-time Grammy Award-winning singer and producer Babyface will sing the national anthem for Game 5 of the World Series.

Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30th at 8:08 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium.

Who is Babyface?

Babyface, whose real name is Kenneth Edmonds, has won 13 Grammy Awards and received 53 nominations.

According to the Grammys website, he co-founded LaFace Records in 1989, which signed TLC, Usher and Toni Braxton.

According to this bio, Babyface has contributed to over 800 million records sold, a billion records streamed, and 125 top 10 hits.

Babyface is currently on tour and will perform in Atlantic City on December 13th and Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut on December 14th.

This is the babyface's first time appearing in a World Series.
