Why did Cal Thresher attack Dwight?

Why did Cal Thresher attack Dwight?

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 5.Dwight Manfredi's gang took a beating Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 5 and some of Cal Thresher's attacks need to be explained. As the show progresses, each of the characters becomes… Tulsa King experience more stress, increasing tensions, and even more problems to contend with. While this makes for great television and creates opportunities for some great character moments, like Tyson's decision to turn to the gangster lifestyle, it also complicates the show's plot. Now, after Tulsa King In Season 2, Episode 5, the story of Dwight and his gang has become so complicated that it may need some explanation.

The latest episode of Tulsa King I developed some things that I focused on for the rest of the season. Both the Kansas City and New York gangs become increasingly angry with Dwight, Cal Thresher's relationship with the Chinese gang world becomes more contentious, and the loyalty of Dwight's friends, especially Armand and Bodhi, is tested. Although Dwight Sylvester Stallone is the funniest character in years, even his humor can't stop all the problems he faces.

What Bill, Chickie, and Dwight Sitting Together Means for Tulsa King Season 2

The sit-in could either shift loyalties or the balance of power in Tulsa King

A lot of it Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 5 was dedicated to three of the show's biggest gangsters – Dwight, Chickie Invernizzi and Bill Bevilaqua – who arranged a time and place to meet. Both Bill and Chickie were able to agree to meet in Atlanta, and although he hadn't yet agreed, Dwight also seemed open to the idea. If Dwight actually comes to the meeting in Atlanta, it could have a big impact Tulsa King Season 2. Depending on what happens next, both the eastern and western gang landscapes could completely change overnight.

Dwight mentioned at the end of Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 4 that he would have been willing to make a deal with Bill if his temper hadn't gotten in the way. This could be a sign that Dwight will be more willing to negotiate during the meeting. If he plays his cards right, Dwight could transform Bill Bevilaqua and the Kansas City mob from enemy to ally with a few well-placed words. This would also fit with an interview that Frank Grillo gave Tulsa King Season 2, in which he hinted that Dwight and Bill from “adversarial“to something completely different.

Tulsa King finally gives Dwight's gang the attention they deserve in Season 2

The second season of Tulsa King already makes one big improvement over the first season of Sylvester Stallone's show: It lets Dwight's gang have some fun.

While the benefits Dwight can gain from the session are pretty clear, it's not so easy to figure out what Bill and Chickie want from the meeting. Bill may be content to simply get a share of Dwight's winnings from Tulsa, but he is also still angry about Carl's death and may be demanding more than just financial compensation. As for Chickie, he probably won't want to make a deal with Dwight given their difficult history and Chickie's instability. For Vince, Chickie's capo, the meeting could be a bigger opportunity because it could be a chance for him to take over the Invernizzi crime family.

Cal Thresher's attack on Dwight explained

Thresher attacked the wind farm to slow down Dwight and cost him money

Cal Thresher's men hold Dwight's crew hostage at the wind farm in Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 5

One of the greatest moments in Tulsa King In Season 2, Episode 5, Cal Thresher's workers arrived at the wind farm and began destroying the place. While their goal was pretty clear – they wanted to set Dwight's project back and cost him both time and money to get it up and running again – there were also some hidden nuances to the situation. For one thing, Cal not only attacked Dwight, but also made a power play against Jackie Ming. Jackie had enforced his rule over the poppy fields and the killing of the thieves, and using his workers without his consent was a way for Cal to fight back.

It was essentially a message that they should always be on guard, which could cause serious tension between Dwight and his followers.

The other hidden goal in destroying Dwight's wind farm was more psychological. Since the failed attack, Dwight and the rest of his gang have been on edge. Dwight wouldn't leave his house without Bigfoot, while Bodhi and the rest of the gang were constantly stressed in the Even Higher Plane. Cal Thresher's attack on the wind farm reminded him that he was always looking for a way to stab them in the back. It was essentially a message that they should always be on guard, which could cause serious tension between Dwight and his followers.

Are Bill Bevilaqua and Cal Thresher working together?

Bevilaqua and Thresher have a mysterious and controversial history

After Cal Thresher's semi-successful attack on Dwight's wind farm, he contacted Bill Bevilaqua by telephone. Their conversation revealed a little more about their relationship and history with each other, but didn't paint a completely clear picture of everything that happened between them. As Bill said, he had worked with Cal for a while, but eventually wanted out of the partnership and let the Chinese gang take his place. However, what is not clear is why Bill no longer wanted to be associated with Cal, what was the reason for their breakup, and what the nature of their relationship is Tulsa King Season 2.

Tulsa King makes me wonder why it took Sylvester Stallone so long to follow in the footsteps of De Niro, Pacino and other actors

Sylvester Stallone's hit series Tulsa King shows how he could have dominated the genre like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro did.

What little can be gleaned from Bill's words seems to indicate that he and Cal are no longer working together. That could have an impact Tulsa King Season 2 in a big way, as this likely means Bill won't be helping Cal out of any future trouble with the Chinese gang or Dwight. Bill is both a gangster and a businessman, and Cal makes quite a bit of money, so he must have had a very good reason to end the partnership. Whatever happened to divide them may have been serious enough to prevent Bill from helping Cal in the future.

Why Cal Thresher sent Dwight and Margaret a bottle of champagne

Thresher plays mind games with Dwight and tries to break them up

Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) and Margaret Devereaux (Dana Delany) in Tulsa King Season 2, Episode 5

Cal Thresher's attacks on Dwight were not just about the superiority he ordered at the wind farm, but also a rather confusing power play at the end of the episode. As Dwight and Margaret Devereaux sat down for their date, a waiter explained that Thresher had given them an expensive bottle of wine. It's certainly not the kind of action you'd expect from someone as vengeful as Cal, but it was actually just as scary as sending your men to the wind farm. Cal's first attack threatened Dwight's business, but the bottle of champagne threatened his personal life.

When will new episodes of Tulsa King season 2 be released on Paramount+ (and when is the finale)?

Sylvester Stallone's time as an Oklahoma gangster will continue in the second season of Tulsa King, with the new season set to begin in September.

Cal may have been trying to drive a wedge between Dwight and Margaret. Through Tulsa King In Season 2, Episode 5, Margaret was clearly troubled by the conflict between Dwight and Cal. At the beginning of the date, she even requested that his name not be mentioned at all. It's possible that Cal tried to ruin their date and attack Dwight's love life as well as his business. Cal also attacked Margaret in a previous episode, but it seems more likely that his motivation was to hurt Dwight rather than gain Margaret's favor.

It's another step to shake up Dwight, and it could cause serious stress and paranoia for Dwight as Tulsa King season 2 progresses.

However, in addition to attacking Dwight's personal life, Cal also sent the gangster a subtle message. Essentially, Cal's decision to send Dwight and Margaret a bottle of champagne was another form of psychological warfare. He wanted to remind her that he was always watching her, that he knew where and when they would be, and that he could reach her even in her most private moments, like on a date. It's another step to shake up Dwight, and it could cause Dwight serious stress and paranoia Tulsa King Season 2 continues.
