'Wicked' star Ariana Grande slammed by Elvira for terrible interaction

It sounds like Elvira and Ariana Grande can't be friends.

The famous horror host, whose real name is Cassandra Peterson, spoke about her past experiences with Grande, adding fuel to the “diva” fire that has surrounded the pop star for many years.

When the Mistress of Darkness appeared at Knott's Scary Farm on Saturday to sign autographs and take part in a question-and-answer session in the curated “Yours Cruelly, Elvira XXperience,” she was asked about her celebrity worst in a fan-recorded video -Interaction asked.

“It rhymes with Pariana Mande,” she told the crowd, drawing gasps and boos from the audience. The anchor, who was off-screen, was stumped before realizing who Peterson was calling.

“Uh oh! “Yeah, we didn't have any donuts for her backstage,” the host joked, referencing the “We Can't Be Friends” singer's infamous donut-licking incident in 2015.

Peterson, who made her character “Elvira” famous in the early '80s, continued with her story but did not reveal when the interaction took place.

Grande “came (to my show) and brought 20 guests. So she wanted 21 tickets. We say, 'Okay,'” Peterson began. “She comes backstage and asks me if I could take pictures with all her friends and family that she brought with her.”

“I take a photo with every single one of them. I give an autograph to every single one of them,” Peterson said. “Then I say to her, 'Could we take a picture together' and she says, 'No, I don't actually do that.'”

Those in attendance could be heard booing the story. “And then she left before my show started. All her relatives stayed,” she marveled.

“I say to her, 'Could we take a picture together,' and she says, 'No, I don't actually do that.'”

At the end of the video, the moderator makes another push. “She’s playing the wrong witch,” referring to Grande’s upcoming role in the highly anticipated film “Wicked.” where she portrays Glinda, the good witch.

Yesterday, Peterson posted a screenshot of an article about the conflict on Instagram. Today in the comments section, Grande expressed regret over the interaction, admitting that she doesn't remember it and that it may have been due to an anxiety attack.

“I am so disheartened to see this. In fact, I don't even remember having the opportunity to meet you because I had an anxiety attack and, as I recall, left before the rest of my family (this was about 7 years ago and around 1920). “The time when I really wasn't that good at being in crowds or noisy places) … but if I remember that moment incorrectly, I sincerely apologize for offending you so much,” she wrote .

“Thank you for being so kind to my mother. She told me how nice you are (she may have different feelings now, but I'll talk to her…sure, we all have our days!) I always send her love. I will always be our Halloween Queen!”

This isn't the first time Grande has been accused of diva behavior.

In May 2020, Grande appeared on Apple Music's “Zane Lowe Show” and spoke about how she was influenced by the media's narrative about her.

“I stopped doing interviews for a very long time because I felt like whenever I got into a situation where someone was trying to say something to make clickbait or twist my words or blah-blah-blah. I would defend myself and then people would be like, 'Oh, she's a diva.' And I'm like, 'That doesn't make any sense.'”

Grande pointed out that women in her position are often talked about differently than men. “It makes you calm down a little bit. But I'm also trying to say, 'F— that.'”

“I’m tired of seeing women being silenced by this. I think there's this thing where we hear something or (someone) says, 'Oh, she said that.' …It really sits with you. “Oh wow, should I stop expressing myself or should I stop having this argument I want to have… Should I just say 'OK' and let it be?” It kind of freaks you out a little bit.

Representatives for Grande and Peterson did not respond to Fox News Digital's immediate request for comment.
