Woman dead after crash involving multiple school buses at 27th Street and Howard

A crash between a school bus and four cars near South 27th Street and West Howard Avenue in Greenfield left one dead and several others injured Monday morning, according to multiple authorities.

Milwaukee and Greenfield police and fire departments responded to the incident around 8:55 a.m

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed it was called to the scene and one person died. According to Greenfield police, the deceased victim was a 26-year-old woman from Milwaukee who was driving one of the passenger vehicles involved in the accident. Rescue workers found her dead at the scene of the accident.

Lamers Bus Lines Inc. confirmed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that one of its buses was involved in the accident. The driver of the bus was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There was no one else on board the bus at the time of the accident.

Three other occupants of the vehicles involved were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
