Would Mark Cuban please shut up?

Would Mark Cuban please shut up?

This raises the question: “Much more than who?” Than, of course, President Joe Biden, whose economic policies represent a significant shift to the left compared to previous Democratic administrations. Cuban voted for Nikki Haley in the Texas Republican primary, but he supported Biden after Haley lost to Trump. Since Harris entered the race, Cuban has repeatedly tried to dissuade Harris from Biden's policies and from the Biden political appointees who implemented those policies. That's not helpful.

Biden proposed increasing the capital gains tax on households earning more than $1 million from 20 percent to 39.6 percent. Harris said last month that it would reduce this increase to 28 percent. Later, Cuban told a CNBC audience“Kamala Harris is pro-business. This is Kamala Harris' campaign. It’s not Joe Biden’s campaign.” Cuban said the change was his idea. “She's listening, isn't she?” Cuban said.

This isn't something that's just about her policy statement and she's like, “Mark, you know, or whoever, let's hope this works.” No, she's like, “List me things about that we should talk in your opinion.” You are the entrepreneur, you invest in more startups than anyone I know. What do you think we should do?”

For taxpayers whose assets exceed $100 million, Biden proposed: a tax of 25 percent on unrealized capital gains. Cuban assured the same CNBC interviewer that he speaks to Harris aides “three, four times a week” and that “every conversation I've had says it's not going to happen.” It seems pretty clear that Cuban doesn't want that to happen.
